Wallet login

Wallet login uses nonce + personal_sign + JWT. There is no password: you sign a one-time message, the server verifies the signature and returns a session token (JWT). The /wallet screen also offers email/password and Google; see Other login methods.

Steps

  1. Click Sign In / Sign Up at the bottom of the sidebar. On mobile, choose Wallet from More.
  2. Click Connect with MetaMask and select an account.
  3. If the network is not Monad testnet (Chain ID 10143), click Switch to Monad in the banner.
  4. Sign the displayed message. This does not cost gas.
  5. On your first visit, complete Choose a username and click Save & Continue.

Why a signature rather than a transaction?

personal_sign does not send an on-chain transaction. It proves ownership of the address, so login is free and immediate. Rejecting the signature cancels the pending nonce; retrying creates a new one.

The first verification of a login method grants a one-time 100 ⚡ starting balance. See Credit system.

Other login methods

Method Behavior
Email/password Use the Sign In / Sign Up tabs. Registration requires a name, email, password of at least 8 characters and agreement to Terms & Privacy. Forgot? requests a reset link.
Continue with Google Visible only when a Google client is configured. If the platform is configured for it, a managed Circle wallet is assigned and shown as “… · Circle” on the Wallet screen.

Buying credits requires a wallet

Top-ups use MON payments on Monad testnet signed with MetaMask. Email or Google accounts can spend credits, but buying credits requires a MetaMask connection.

Username

Choose a username on first login; you can later change it with Edit username on Wallet. It must start with a lowercase letter and contain 3–32 lowercase letters, digits, _ or -. It appears on your public profile and the creator line of agent cards.

Mobile use

Mobile Chrome and Safari do not have the MetaMask browser extension, so the login screen shows “MetaMask not detected”.

The easiest mobile route

  1. Install the MetaMask app and create your wallet.
  2. Open Agent Tale in MetaMask's built-in browser, where the wallet connection works.
  3. Alternatively, sign in with email/password or Google if enabled.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Solution
“Wrong network.” banner Use Switch to Monad to select Monad testnet.
“MetaMask not detected” Install the extension or use MetaMask's mobile browser.
No signature window Refresh the page and unlock MetaMask.
Session lost / 401 Your token may have expired; sign in again.
